    Transition & Current Focus
    2025 — Present

After several years of research and software engineering at the intersection of data engineering, semantic technologies, and modelling/simulation, I am currently transitioning into a more industry-focused role.

My primary interests and focus areas include:

    • DevOps & Cloud Engineering (Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, IaC)
    • Homelab, Infrastructure, and Platform Engineering
    • Data Engineering & Knowledge Graph systems
    • Context-aware GenAI and applied LLM tooling
    • Building minimal, reliable, production-grade systems

I am actively developing a portfolio of hands-on projects that combines:

    • real infrastructure (Kubernetes homelab)
    • cloud-native engineering
    • graph-based data systems
    • modern AI workflows
  • Researcher and Software Engineer
    NTNU, Trondheim
    2021 — 2024
    • Designed and deployed scalable REST APIs (FastAPI) for integration with modelling and simulation systems.
    • Developed cloud-based process modelling tools using Python, Docker, and Kubernetes, enabling browser-based execution of complex engineering simulations.
    • Built ETL pipelines to collect, clean, and integrate multi-source data to construct a coatings knowledge graph using Neo4j; designed schemas and optimized Cypher queries for high-throughput workloads.
    • Developed an MVP of a virtualized knowledge graph system using FastAPI, RDF triplestores, and SPARQL; implemented declarative mappings (R2RML, Morph-KGC) for materializing graph views from tabular data.
    • Built a JupyterHub-based secure data-access service enabling remote access to NTNU’s on-site modelling tools.

Expertise demonstrated: Python, FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes, Neo4j, R2RML, SPARQL, ETL, semantic data engineering.

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow
    Aalto University, Finland
    2017 — 2021
    • Developed algorithms and simulations for modelling assembly processes of biomolecular structures.
    • Contributed to the development of open-source tools(XDSD) for structural modelling workflows.
    • Co-supervised a master’s student in algorithmic design, modelling, and simulation.
    • Published and presented research at international conferences.
  • PhD Candidate and Teaching Assistant
    NTNU, Norway
    2010 — 2017
    • PhD in Computer Science, specializing in bio-inspired AI and biomolecular unconventional computing models.
    • Thesis: Dynamically ControlledDNA Tiles: Looking Beyond the Self-assembly of Static Two-dimensional DNA-based Computational Structures. Computational Structures* Assisted in teaching machine learning, bio-inspired algorithms, and statistical image analysis.
    • Published peer-reviewed work on biomolecular computation and emergent computing models.
  • M.Tech and Research Assistant
    IIIT Allahabad, India
    2007 — 2010
    • Master of Technology in IT, specializing in microelectronics and VLSI design.
    • Thesis: Variable-length resource constraint FFT processor for FPGA-based DSP applications.
    • Worked as a project assistant in a smart power meter design project.
